This is Home?
Calling all Singapore citizens, Permanent Residents and “Foreign Talents”! What does “HOME” mean to you? Do you consider Singapore your Home? What better way to explore an issue than to be involved in a brand new devised performance, performed by you!
After a successful run in 2006 and a momentous General Election in 2011, Drama Box returns with the second installment of this workshop, where we hope to delve deeper into the issues of Home, Citizenry and Belonging. Join us in creating a piece of theatre that represents your voices and thoughts on this issue. Led by Koh Hui Ling, Artistic Director of NeNeMas (education arm of Drama Box), participants will create short plays from personal stories that they have shared. These will culminate
into a performance after 3 days of workshops and will be performed in front of a live audience.
Employing the techniques of Forum Theatre, the audience gets to participate in the outcome of the play, and the entire community explores and discovers what home means to everyone.
No acting experience is necessary. Just your enthusiasm and willingness to share your stories.
“The endless stream of volunteers to subsequently offer suggestions for interventions is evidence of how the production had captured the audience's imagination.”The Flying Inkpot on Trick or Threat
